Sports: A massage that usually is giving to athletes. Sports has three stages: pre-event, inner-event, and post-event/injury treatment. Pre-event is warming up the muscle with a fast pace massage using friction, shaking, compressions and stretching to stimulate the blood flow and reduce any resistance that may occur during a game. Inner-event is a 10-15 minute massage, similar to the pre- event. Post-event is a light short massage approx. 5-15 minutes, focusing on the muscle used to assist recovery of the physical activity. It is a technique that uses lymphatic draining strokes, compressions, petrissage, and sometimes friction. A ice treatment might also be used. A rehabilitation massage is recommended approx. a week after event.

Additional symptoms can include ear pain, bite off, lock jaw, headaches , pain in the neck among other symptoms. A massage helps relax tense muscles, improve circulation, reduce swelling in hands and feet, and relive any discomforts she is experiencing as she is going through the many changes in her body. It is not recommended during the first trimester and should get approval from their doctor before a massage.
